ABSTRACT

JAMES EUSTACE RADCLYFFE MCDONAGH was born in London on October 17, 1881. After medical training at Bedford College, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, and a period in Vienna, he returned to London, as a surgeon, and became associated with the London Lock Hospitals. He became the Director of the Nature of Disease Institute at its founding in 1929, and published many papers on pathology, microbiology and clinical medicine. His account of nevoxanthoendothelioma is of especial interest to dermatologists. Author of numerous books, including a textbook on venereal disease (1915), he also published The Universe in the Making. He continued to engage in medical research and consultation into his 70s.
