ABSTRACT
FRANCIS EUGENE SENEAR was born November 5, 1889 in Salamanca, New York. He received his M.D. from the University of Michigan in 1914. After a year as instructor in dermatology at Michigan, he was appointed to the dermatology staff at the University of Illinois. In 1923 he succeeded William Allen Pusey as Professor and head of the department at Illinois, and continued to serve in this capacity for a period of 31 years.
