ABSTRACT

WILLIAM HOWARD HAILEY was born on May 17, 1898, in Hartwell, Georgia. He received his M.D. from Emory University in 1920. He practiced as a dermatologist in Atlanta and held the title, Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Emory University Medical School. He was a member of the American Dermatological Association, and wrote on various dermatologic topics. His best known work is that which he did on familial benign chronic pemphigus. We have included his account of this disease, written in association with his brother, Hugh. He died on March 26, 1967.
