ABSTRACT
The number of construction projects undertaken in China have been increasing rapidly since adoption of the reforming policy in the 1980s. Despite the efforts of the Chinese Government in issuing the laws and regulations, the engineering quality and construction safety, however, remain as the two main problems in the construction industry. This chapter presents the regulations implemented in China to ensure construction quality and site safety. An investigation of construction accidents in China is also included in the latter part of the chapter.
