ABSTRACT

Insulin injections are very commonly prescribed for patients suffering from diabetes. It is expressed in units of activity per milliliter. For example, “insulin 10 units” means 10 units of insulin are present in 1 mL of the injection. Insulin should always be measured in insulin syringes, which are calibrated according to the strength of insulin. The insulin syringe makes it possible to obtain a correct dosage without any mathematical computations or conversions. Always use the smallest capacity insulin syringe possible to most accurately measure insulin dosages. The insulin dosages are calculated by the method of proportion. This is explained in the following examples.
