ABSTRACT

In most academic disciplines, scholarly journals have played an important role by providing readers with contemporary research in a timely way. The discursive opportunities help to shape ideas for the discipline as it develops. In this contemporary environment, where transmission of information occurs in new and ever expanding networks, journals today continue to play a significant role. Information can now be more quickly accessed-for the reader, but can also be published more quickly-using the Web. This has changed and will undoubtedly continue to change the face of information sharing.
