ABSTRACT

When the commissioning organization has decided to proceed with the simulation project, the practitioner may suddenly be thrust into the position of project manager. If you are using this handbook, there is a good probability that you are a novice simulation practitioner. Unfortunately, many novice simulation practitioners have little formal training in the way of project management skills. The skills that are acquired are obtained through trial and error or on-the-job training. This is unfortunate because the success or failure of a simulation project can depend heavily on the amount of time and skill devoted to the planning phase of the project.
