ABSTRACT
This chapter describes sampling designs in which the section plane is not isotropically oriented, or is not uniformly positioned in the experimental material. Vertical sections are plane sections parallel to a fixed axis. Axial sections are constrained to contain a fixed axis. Local sections are constrained to pass through a fixed point.
