ABSTRACT

This chapter reports developments in provision of physical education, sport and leadership experiences at a secondary (5-16 years) community school in Hampshire, that is also now a designated Specialist Sports College.1 Hamble Community School’s application for this status reflected its commitment to:

• physical education and sport being at the heart of education, school and wider communities; and therefore

• realising the potential of physical education and sport to play a key role in the development of lifelong skills and interests amongst all young people.
