Project 21: Works to small bay window—bay underpinning

First discover the reason for the structural defects to a bay window and whether underpinning is really necessary. It is assumed that the works are being carried out to the same small mid-terrace Victorian house as in Project 20 about bressummer beams. When these houses were built, the foundations underneath the bay window were normally extremely shallow and in some cases did not really exist at all.
