ABSTRACT

It is possible to install a washing machine almost anywhere in a house provided certain conditions can be met. There obviously has to be an adequate fall to the waste pipe, to ensure that the waste water will run away easily, without having to run the pipe below ground floor level if at all possible. At first floor level the waste pipe can run between the floor joists if necessary and then connect to a soil stack. At ground floor level it may still be possible to run the waste pipe below the floor but the connection into the drainage system may not comply with the Building Regulations.
