Alexeev et al. (3.28) have applied radiopolymerization technology for the impregnation of concrete and other materials such as asbestoscement, wood, etc. Experiments showed that electron accelerators are better than isotope sources or nuclear reactors. Technology and necessary equipment were investigated and designed. A plant was built for automatic production of 500 000 m2 of composite materials per year for architectural proposals. The durability of such composites is due to their high moisture, bio-, and frost resistance, their ability to resist corrosion, high temperatures, thermal shocks, etc.
