Each of these Ideas is an absolute toward which one has to work. The Idea has a regulatory function for the discourses and actions occurring in each of the aforementioned domains.

4. The responsibilities incurred by agents in the various domains differ. Einstein has a responsibility to knowledge, Roosevelt has a responsibility in relation to being-together, Rockefeller has a responsibility in relation to wealth, Wiener has a responsibility in relation to performance. Their phrases and their acts ask to be evaluated according to the criterion that corresponds to the regulatory Idea of their proper domain.4
