ABSTRACT

The same odds are true in the recovery. As clinicians, we need to work as a member of an eating disorders treatment team. Just like in football, each team is composed of different players with different specialties. The quarterback may be the individual therapist, while the center is the physician; and the other positions may consist of the nutritionist, the family therapist, the group therapist, and if applicable, the guidance counselor, school staff, and sports coach. The linemen, who block and allow the play to be completed, could consist of the family and friends who support the client in recovery. Lastly, the receiver, the most important part of the team, is the client. With the support of the team, the client can reach the long-term goal-full recovery.
