ABSTRACT
A fitting tribute to Eleanor Saffran, and her exceptional contributions to our field, was published in Cognitive Neuropsychology in 2003 (Volume 20, p. 91). We recommend this “In Memoriam” piece to readers who have not already seen it: we did not write it but would have been pleased and proud to do so, and, accordingly, feel that we need not and should not offer another version of its contents here. This brief introduction will therefore merely explain why we wanted to prepare this special issue of the journal in Eleanor’s honour.
