ABSTRACT

For organisations where the incidence of traumatic events is infrequent or the employees are widely dispersed, there are likely to be few advantages in introducing an in-house trauma counselling and debriefing service. However, selecting, managing and auditing an external provider is not a trouble-free process. Organisations need to be aware that the purchasing of an external post-trauma support service on its own may not fully meet all the needs of the organisation or its traumatised employees.
