ABSTRACT

In the fall of 2001,1 was sitting in a meeting in the east coast corporate office of a well-funded U.S. feminist organization with Tahmeena, a visiting RAWA member, and a number of influential U.S. feminists. This was just one of many such meetings held with all sorts of groups, from government to nonprofit and grassroots organizations, that I attended while helping and observing RAWA members during their two major tours of the United States.
