ABSTRACT
Tendinitis is an inflammatory process, usually of traumatic origin (repeated microtrauma), affecting the tendons and their insertions as well as the synovial sheaths. The tendons most commonly affected are the longer and thinner ones, as they are submitted to quick movements and angulations and thus the frequency of tendinitis at the level of the wrist and hand is relatively high.
