ABSTRACT

The remote access is one of the fastest–growing segments in most enterprise networks. The remote access is a broad term that covers a wide range of issues. Telecommuting employees, especially those who work from home a large percentage of the time, demand a faster, more reliable connection to the internal corporate network than their traveling counterparts. Traveling employees typically need access to only e–mail files to stay up–to–date while on the road. The biggest beneficiaries of remote-access technology are network administrators. The remote–access method choose, any solution should meet a set of minimum requirements that include security; cost; scalability; quality of service; and ease of deployment, management, and use. Security is the most important requirement for a remote–access solution. The remote access, authentication is very important. Dial–up remote access is a little more secure than Internet remote access because passwords and data are not traveling over a public packet network.
