ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 (Table 1.2), we introduced five tasks that SCM requires to be done differently. Our five tasks, also the subject of the
Handbook of Supply Chain Management
, have always been part of the manager’s workload. However, the drivers of supply chain change, described in Chapter 3, require new ways of performing these traditional tasks. Table 4.1 lists the five tasks, along with the project management themes associated with each. Together, they constitute our version of the SCM body of knowledge. Incorporating them into executing processes in our projects is the subject of chapters in Section III, as indicated in the final column of Table 4.1.
