ABSTRACT
Webster’s Dictionary defines evidence as something legally submitted to a competent tribunal as a means of ascertaining the truth of any alleged matter of fact under investigation before it. Police investigators deal with evidence on a daily basis. Their ability to recognize, collect, and use evidence in criminal investigations determines to a large degree their success as investigators.
