In essence, nostalgia is strongly present in the cinema of third generation, Italian-American film artists. It’s not the grandparents, who still embody the traditions of their land of origin; it’s not the parents, who often reject it because of their intense desire to assimilate in the New World; it’s the children who want to return to their roots and their ancestral homeland
