ABSTRACT

Studies show that superior human resource practices are directly related to superior financial performance. Companies that link pay to performance, allow flexible work arrangements, and allow easy access to communication technologies present a better track record (Wyatt, 2000). Knowledge workers want most of all to add value, to contribute, and to use their talents and expertise to some constructive end. The degree to which employees (executive or hourly workers) contribute to the enterprise’s informasset is a measure of their value to the enterprise. The knowledge portfolio can document their value to the organization, while providing a communication resource for assembling project teams and finding needed expertise.
