ABSTRACT

Eighty-four percent of respondents to our survey agreed with the following statement: “I am sure there are better ways of using our information, but we don’t have time to work on it.” Many organizations are using online conferences for this purpose. Companies with distributed workforces or customer bases are moving to online conferences to achieve faster, more effective decisions and more efficient information sharing. Yet, for most organizations it is not sufficient merely to install the required technology and train managers on the use of conferencing software. Managers, supervisors, and executives find they must deal with decidedly nontechnical issues to make online conferencing pay off.
