ABSTRACT
The information technology (IT) development group within most enterprises plays a critical role in enabling effective information assets management. Yet, our survey indicates that the IT group faces some difficult contradiction. Some 58 percent of survey respondents thought IT people focused only on automated systems while 94 percent agreed that information asset management must deal with both automated and tacit information.
