Libya’s Refugees, their Places of Exile, and the Shaping of their National Idea

This article is intended as a preliminary discussion of research in progress which focuses on the history of Libyan exiles during the colonial period. Rather than a presentation of finished arguments it is an exploration of certain key issues and problems concerning the history of incipient Libyan nationalism and the spaces of exile in which it developed.1
