Rectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide. There are approximately 130000 cases per year in the USA, causing 56000 deaths. More than 35000 new cases are diagnosed each year in the UK, making colorectal cancer the second commonest malignancy in women and the third commonest in men. Over thirty percent of colorectal cancer arises in the rectum.
