Different Faiths, Different Perceptions of Public Tragedy

Among the forces converging after a public tragedy are the uncertainty of life and connection to the sacred. When our ability to control life and death fails, we tend to look to the spiritual aspects of suffering and death in an effort to make sense of a senseless act. In tumultuous places of uncertainty lie connections to mystery (Dwoskin, 2002).
