ABSTRACT
Almost all patients presenting for cardiac surgery have pre-existing hemodynamic abnormalities, and the aim of cardiac anesthesia is to induce and maintain anesthesia without causing myocardial or other organ injury. This requires extensive monitoring and close cooperation between the anesthetist, perfusionist and surgeon.
