ABSTRACT

Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is a spectrum of congenital heart anomalies involving hypoplasia of the left heart. The diagnosis ranges from critical neonatal aortic valve stenosis to complete absence of the LV. Nearly all patients with HLHS have coarctation but the condition is categorized by four subtypes: ● aortic stenosis and mitral stenosis ● aortic atresia and mitral atresia ● aortic atresia and mitral stenosis ● aortic stenosis and mitral atresia.
