ABSTRACT
A pelvic ultrasound scan should be performed by appropriately trained personnel, who have obtained the relevant qualifications and continue to participate in continuing professional development and appraisal programs. Only trained personnel should report on ultrasound scans. Assessment of inter-observer variation should be performed on a regular (e.g. annual) basis and at the start of scientific studies of ovarian function.
