ABSTRACT

Rebecca Gilman’s highly acclaimed fictional play, ‘Spinning the Butter’, is based on personal experience. In a small liberal arts college in New England, USA, one of the very few black students starts to receive racially motivated threats. At one point in the play, a tutor admits her true feelings about black people.
