ABSTRACT

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is defined by motor manifestations of tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity, gait disorder, postural instability and freezing. However, it is associated with multiple nonmotor problems including voiding difficulties. Urological symptoms in PD have a stereotypical presentation and character with its pathophysiology localized in the basal ganglia. A neurologist who obtains a thorough clinical history and who is acquainted with the neuro-urology of PD can play an important role in the management of this particular problem.
