ABSTRACT
This chapter demonstrates that noun incorporation in Plains Cree is subject to ccommand and locality constraints. Since the notions of c-command and locality are syntactic in nature, I conclude that noun incorporation in Plains Cree is a syntactic phenomenon. To implement a syntactic analysis of noun incorporation, I make use of the vP structures introduced in the previous chapter.
