ABSTRACT
We use the basic principle of scaling every day. When we meet people for the first time we try to build a picture of them: we develop impressions of their friendliness, intelligence, trustworthiness and so forth. These impressions rarely rely on one piece of information but are a composite picture based on a number of clues.
