ABSTRACT

X INTRODUCTION Th is chapter explores an array of industry positions that are not typically involved in day-to-day game design and development processes. Th ey are grouped together under “Business” because they are usually administrative and/or support positions that enable the hands-on work of game making. Such support work includes organizational leadership, asset cultivation and management (including intellectual property and human resources), sales and promotion, legal consultation and compliance, and so on-in essence, the organizational scaff olding of the industry rather than its explicitly creative or technical side.
