ABSTRACT
Music and dramatic play are typically found in early childhood centers, preschools, and kindergartens. In the primary grades, however, as school becomes viewed as a more serious undertaking, both music and dramatic play begin to disappear. Music is often relegated to formal theatrical experiences, and informal dramatic play is often only seen during outside recess. In recent years, even the recesses themselves have begun to disappear.
