ABSTRACT

The need for good management is not unique to an automated office. Managing people effectively is the foundation of all productive organizations. The need for these skills in an automated environment becomes, perhaps, more apparent because of the increased speed, complexity and consequences resulting from the automation of manual systems. For example, under a manual system an individual using an incorrect method of filing information might affect hundreds of cases before the error is detected. The same individual, under an automated system, might well misfile thousands of cases with little hope of easy retrieval and correction.
