Taking a Pattern from an 18th-Century Clothing Piece Linda Kelley-Dodd
Pack the following materials for your work: 1-8" graph paper, mechanical pencils, lead (F, HB, red and blue), magnifying glass, camera, grid ruler, and a 60" measuring tape. A note about graph paper: most graph paper has a black or non-reproducing blue grid of lines of uniform weight. I prefer sheets of my own design: a letter-sized piece of white paper with a dark grey 1" grid overlaid on a light-grey 1-8" grid. This paper, which can easily be generated in either AutoCAD® or Adobe Illustrator®, is easier to read and xerox.
