ABSTRACT

Our individual experience most strongly infl uences our ability to learn to think strategically. We tend to draw on two kinds of experience: current experience and prior successful life experiences. But how do we go from having an experience to learning to think strategically? In short, we engage in critical refl ection, critical inquiry, and critically dialogue with others about our situations, such that learning and transfer occur. (See Chapters 6 and 7.)

Successful strategists learn to think strategically through informal learning,

primarily from their own experience.
