ABSTRACT
A common way to ask for directions is Как добраться до followed by the destination in the genitive case or Как доехать до followed by the destination in the genitive case: literally ‘how to get to’, meaning ‘How do you/I get to’. The verb добраться can be used to indicate getting to a place on foot or by transport, доехать by transport only:
Извините, как добраться до Кремля?
‘Excuse me, how do I get to the Kremlin?’
Скажите, пожалуйста, как добраться до Ленинградского вокзала?
‘Could you please tell me how to get to Leningradski railway station?’
Простите, пожалуйста, как доехать до аэропорта?
‘I'm sorry, how do I get to the airport, please?’
