Summary

In contrast to the findings in much of the literature on the intellectually gifted, the children of this study are, on average, significantly shorter and slighter than their age-peers. However, their physical health is excellent; none has had a serious illness and the group has had a surprisingly small incidence of childhood accidents and contagious disease. Their tendency towards symptomatic atopic disease, however, is far greater than that found in the general population.
