ArewardfromtheCrownforservicesrendered,itisasymbol andhasbeenaninstrumentoftheenormouspoliticaleffectivenessofthemembersofthatfamilyline.Inrecentyears, however,HatfieldHousehasbeenopentothepublicand overtlyanxiousforpayingvisitors,withtheNationalCollectionofModelSoldiersasaspecialattraction.
