ABSTRACT

The previous chapter described how many new teachers enjoyed their first year of teaching and welcomed taking full responsibility for the classes they taught. Most felt they became established in school and, to a greater or lesser extent, had been accepted by the classes they taught. This chapter looks at how teachers developed their teaching in the first year and will help you:

• identify how your teaching has progressed; • identify opportunities for training and support; • consider the CEPD process; • consider what is meant by meeting the induction standards.
