ABSTRACT

“Production is just an assembly-line to get the script onto the screen,” said William Goldman in his book Which Lie Did Tell?. Like a lot of Goldman’s writing (except for his screenplays), it’s both nonsense and completely true at the same time. Production is much more than an assembly line – it really is where the film is forged. Forged is the right word, too – the materials get melted down (along with a scary amount of money), and through the sweat and tears of a lot of talented people, beaten into something wonderful. Postproduction logging. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780203588949/9d94de66-12ca-43b6-a651-073518b2fe74/content/fig22_1_B.jpg" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
