ABSTRACT

The emerging benefits of teacher networking and learning with and from one another within an environment of collaboration has helped to consolidate the notion of teachers as leaders.

Teacher leadership

In seeking a clear definition of teacher leadership, Muijs and Harris (2003) review the work of Katzenmeyer and Moller (2001), who see teacher leadership as having three main facets:

1 Leadership of students or other teachers: facilitator, coach, mentor, trainer, curriculum specialist, creating new approaches, leading study groups.
