ABSTRACT
In this chapter we outline some of the ways in which children and young adults who provide unpaid (informal) care to family members can suffer, or be vulnerable to, social exclusion and how social policies may exacerbate this situation. We go on to suggest ways in which young carers may be supported in their caring roles and may be assisted to achieve a better degree of social inclusion.
