ABSTRACT

Critical incident and repertory grid interviews were conducted separately from the research sessions using the Work Profiling and Personality questionnaires. All were conducted as one-to-one interviews by job analysts trained in the use of such techniques. Interviews lasted anywhere from one up to two hours, and were conducted either with heads in school, or with inspectors/advisers usually at a local authority professional development centre. Standardized interviewing procedures were adopted by all job analysts.
