ABSTRACT

Such was the case one summer day, when the representative of one of our former clients called to report a very unusual incident. He was monitoring re-roofing work at the Midwestern factory where he was the facilities manager. On the day before his call, a private roofing contactor had removed a large segment of the existing roof and insulation, and installed two layers of new insulation and four glass fiber-felt plies in hot coal-tar pitch.
