ABSTRACT

Low-sloped roofing systems command the biggest share of the roofing market in the United States and Canada; they also involve the greatest number of systems and a more diverse group of materials than steep-sloped roofing. Both the principal systems and the membrane materials are discussed in the next two chapters. The thermal insulation used with the roofing membrane is an important part of each low-sloped system; the insulation options will be discussed in Chapter 4.
